The Memorial Gardens at the Peele Centre, Hendon, designed by Churchman Landscape Architects for the Metropolitan Police have been shortlisted for this years
Better Public Building - the Prime Minister's Award.

Out of seven finalists this was the only landscape. The judges said:

“The Memorial Gardens in Hendon give a sense of calm, even though they are surrounded by substantial buildings. The combination of planting and hard landscaping is exemplary.”

The entries are judged on design, construction, financial management, procurement method and social and environmental value.
