D I R E C T O R S

Nigel Prince is a Chartered landscape Architect. John Wheeler is a qualified construction specialist. They have over 25 years experience in both the Public and Private Sectors of the industry. Nigel has managed the company since its establishment in 1986 and is currently responsible for Marketing, Design Co-ordination, Commercial Development and Quality Assurance. John leads the Construction Division and is also responsible for the development of LDC’s Health & Safety systems.

M A N A G E R S

Our Senior Contract Manager is supported by a team of managers, buyers and estimators. They are responsible for all our projects from inception to practical completion. We have an After Care Manager who assures continuity through the maintenance and defects period until final completion.
The company encourages an open forum for discussion between directors, managers and site staff.

S U P E R V I S O R S    A N D    F O R E P E R S O N S

The Supervisors and Forepersons report on a daily basis to the Contract Managers. They are responsible for site management and the supervision of the workforce.

A D M I N I S T R A T I O N

The company is efficiently supported by the administration staff reporting on a daily basis to the Directors.

C R A F T S P E R S O N S     A N D     O P E R A T I V E S

LDC employs over 40 site personnel either on a direct labour basis or as labour only subcontractors. All our staff are employed strictly in accordance with the latest Government legislation. We provide a broad base of skills, for example, landscape craftspersons (for both hard and soft elements), bricklayers, carpenters, groundspersons, landscape operatives and trainees.

S P E C I A L I S T     S U B C O N T R A C T O R S

All subcontractors and consultants are carefully selected and monitored in accordance with LDC´s Quality Assurance system. We maintain a database of regularly employed subcontractors and consultants. Typical categories include electricians, stonemasons, surfacing specialists, cost consultants, structural engineers, plumbers, irrigation engineers and metal workers.

Landscape Architects

Degree or Diploma in Landscape Design/Architecture
Member of the Landscape Institute



Contract Managers Degree or Diploma in Landscape Contract Management or Project Management


Forepersons/Supervisors

National Certificate or equivalent in Landscape Construction/Horticulture
Appointment Grade 2 and above (generally – minimum qualification NVQ3)



Craftspersons/Operatives Minimum NVQ grades 1-2 or equivalent


Trainees Undertaking an approved part-time course in landscape construction or horticulture


Administration HND Business Studies and NVQ´s
