Edge posed a number of design and build challenges but limitless opportunities for the LDC team. The garden perched on the edge of a hill was transformed into a series of terraces. The top terrace features a stone temple and lawn area bounded by extensive herbaceous planting for use as an events area for the client. The top terrace hidden by existing trees and shrubs opens out onto the newly landscaped lawn terraces that overlook the valley beyond. Each terrace is accessed by large stone steps. Adjacent to the house the magnificent views are enjoyed via a yorkstone and hoggin plateau.

An existing spring traversing the site underground was utilised as a water feature and incorporated it into the terraced lawn, forming a natural stream that subtley cuts through the garden ending in a half moon pond which is bridged by giant ‘floating’ stones.
