BALI 2020 Award – Hard Landscaping Construction (non-domestic) – Over £500k

A multi million pound development in Shoreditch centred around an outdoor communal podium area designed by Alexandra Steed Urban and constructed by LDC. The Design is made up of 3 separate levels, the podium, courtyard and sunken garden.

The podium features raised Zintec planters and contemporary Iroko and granite finishes. The construction required rigorous planning and various methods of moving material (including crane/forklift/hoist and conveyor belt among others) to overcome the logistical challenge all whilst the main works the high rise building were still running.

A ground level courtyard features hanging wall planters to the entrance and a contemporary granite finish inset with planting beds. Both the podium and Courtyard areas are connected by a large set of Iroko clad steps.
